David Warner was involved in the infamous ball-tampering saga that shook Australian cricket. He along with Steve Smith was banned from playing cricket for 12 months, while Warner also received a lifetime ban from captaincy.
Both the batsmen were mocked by the English fans at Edgbaston during the first Test of the Ashes series this year. They took a jibe at Smith by chanting โWe say you cry on the tellyโ, pointing out at the time when Smith cried at a press conference in Australia following that Sandpaper-Gate scandal in South Africa.
Amid this, an old viral video of the 2019 Ashes series, resurfaced on Twitter and in no time went viral. In the video, Warner was coming down the stairs when fans mocked him by calling him a โcheatโ and received a befitting reply from the Aussie opener. The 36-year-old could be seen giving a double thumbs-up to the fans.

Australian players celebrated 1st Ashes Test win at a pub where David Warner punched Joe Root
The first Ashes Test was filled with drama. England did not opt out from batting with their famous โBazballโ approach. This saw them declaring on the first Day itself with a score of 393/8d.
Australia in response were skittled out for 386 and Pat Cummins and Co. received 281 runs to chase and though it looked an easy target, the English pacers at other things in their mind. Throughout Day 5, it was difficult to predict a winner but Usman Khawajaโs knock and later skipper Cumminsโ shouldering the responsibility with an unbeaten 44 runs took the visitors past the target to win the match by wickets.
Some of the Aussie players decided to celebrate their victory at a pub. Nathan Lyon was one of them.
Now this pub is the same place where David Warner had punched Joe Root back in 2013. To add more drama to the Ashes, the rowdy fan group of England, The Barmy Army, was also present there as it was their head quarter for the first Test, and one of them posted a picture on Twitter with Lyon with the caption: โThis is all out war now. The Aussie celebrated yesterdayโs win in our HQ for the week.โ
