Donn Davis says Francis Ngannou fight will cost more than UFC Sphere

Dana Whiteโ€™s UFC recently concluded a grand fight card at the Las Vegas Sphere. Interestingly, it seems like PFL founder Donn Davis wants to surpass that remarkable Noche UFC event. As such, Davis plans to spend more than $ 20 million for the Francis Ngannou vs. Renan Ferreira fight card. When White came across the news, he gave an intriguing reaction.

PFL founder Donn Davis seemed confident in his organizationโ€™s potential, much like Dana White has propelled the UFC to success. In a recent interview with the New York Post, Davis promoted the Ngannou vs. Ferreira fight card. The PFL founder even stated that it would be the biggest MMA event of 2024. When asked to share his thoughts on this in a recent media gathering, White didnโ€™t seem to care much.

I didnโ€™t even know who he was until you said it. So, what did he say?… Sounds like a good idea. Good for him. Good luck. I hope it all works out. Yeah

Dana Whiteโ€™s biggest event was sponsored by Riyadh Season. It marked the first time in UFC events that the promotion sold naming rights. The event was named Riyadh Season Noche UFC and received significant funding from Turki Alalshikh. Meanwhile, PFL also invested in Saudi Arabia and allocated even more funds for a major fight card scheduled for the country on October 19th.

Along with Francis Ngannou vs. Renan Ferreira and Cris Cyborg vs. Larissa Pacheco, several other intriguing fights have been announced. Interestingly, this might be another big payday event for Ngannou after his recent boxing bouts.

Although he couldnโ€™t win against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, he did earn millions. It seems Ngannou might benefit again as Donn Davis aims for a grand PFL event. Amidst that, a popular UFC commentator has shown concerns for the โ€˜Predator.โ€™

Everyone in the fighting community is no stranger to Francis Ngannouโ€™s vicious striking ability. His fights against Alistair Overeem and Stipe Miocic in the UFC are a prime example of that. Even though he didnโ€™t have a positive boxing career, that shouldnโ€™t take away his skillset in MMA. After a two-year break from MMA, the Predator returns to face the Brazilian powerhouse, Renan Ferreira.

The Brazilian has an impressive track record as well. Most recently, he had a big win against Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader.

Moreover, Ferreira is also riding a four-fight win streak, with knockout victories in every of them. Joe Rogan who often voices his opinions, feels the Brazilian star would be a big challenge for Ngannou.
