It was he who encouraged and guided Johnson to eventually build one of the biggest brands on social media.
UFC CEO, Dana White recently sat down for a conversation with Shannon Sharpe. During their discussion on ‘Club Shay Shay’, Sharpe asked White if it was true that he really got Dwayne Johnson on social media. White confirmed that it was indeed him who got ‘The Rock’ on Instagram.
Yeah, at the time he wasn’t on social media and I was like are you nuts?… I actually got the people that ran my social media, I put on his to get him up and started and kind of get him going. And obviously you know the guy’s a trailblazer now in social media, and one of the biggest followed humans on earth.

Dana White‘s comments made it to social media and eventually caught the eyes of ‘The Rock’ himself. He went to the comment section to confirm that what the UFC CEO said was indeed true. Johnson commented under an Instagram post that reported White’s comments on ‘Club Shay Shay’ and wrote “Very true story.”
‘The Rock’ got on Instagram in 2013. Now, Dwayne Johnson (@therock) is currently one of the most followed accounts on Instagram. The WWE superstar commands a dedicated fanbase of over 397 million followers online. Now he is working on a project that could potentially shoot his stardom to another level.

Dwayne Johnson gained fame in the late 1990s through early 2000s as a professional wrestler in the WWE. He later transitioned to a successful acting career and eventually became one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors. His movies have consistently performed well at the box office. However, Dana White believes ‘The Rock’s latest movie will be his best yet.

Directed by Benny Safdie and produced by A24, the film is based on the true events of Kerr’s life, focusing on his career in mixed martial arts. Oleksandr Usyk, the Ukrainian boxing champion, will portray Igor Vovchanchyn in the upcoming film. It is expected to be released in 2025.
