Michael Chandler doesn't want fans to be sorry for him

Due to an injury, Conor McGregor had to withdraw from the main event of UFC 303. For fans hoping for a spectacular McGregor comeback fight, it was a massive letdown. Michael Chandler has been the one most affected by all of this. On the other side, Dana White appears to have Chandler covered during challenging times.

Michael Chandler had to wait for two long years in order to get the Conor McGregor fight. Throughout this period, the fighter lost several opportunities and in the end, everything seems to be falling apart. In a recent interview with Jim Rome, Dana White talked about Chandler’s situation and revealed that the UFC is ready to do anything the fighter wants.

I think poor Chandler wants to wait for Conor McGregor man. If he wants to get a fight this summer, we’ll do whatever he wants. He’s one of the greatest athletes I’ve ever worked with.

McGregor’s pull-out started a series of events including Alex Pereira now defending his title against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303. It was a desperate thing for UFC to do in order to save the card and it seems to have worked. However, nothing can replace the hype behind the return of the biggest superstar in the promotion.

White has also declined to address McGregor and his injury in any more remarks. On the other hand, The ‘Iron” is still to decide if he wants to fight again or if he would stick around for the bout with McGregor. However, the fighter doesn’t appear to be phased by all of this.

However, Michael Chandler doesn’t want fans to feel sorry for him. The fighter recently uploaded a video on his Instagram account where he urged his fans not to disrespect him by pitying him.

Don’t you dare disrespect me by feeling sorry for me. Don’t you dare disrespect me by having any kind of sympathy.

As always, there is a high risk and high reward associated with calling out Conor McGregor and waiting for his fight. Chandler has never wavered in his resolve, whereas many other fighters would give up. Chandler is still upbeat about his fight with McGregor, so it appears like nothing has changed.
