Two of Dana Whiteโ€˜s top sellers are out due to injury. Jon Jones and Conor McGregor have not fought in the octagon for a while now. Fortunately, the UFC CEO has news regarding the heavyweight champion. Jones is expected to make his comeback later this year.

Dana White recently did an interview on TNT Sports. There he talked about Jon Jones and his potential return to the octagon. It has been over a year since โ€˜Bonesโ€™ claimed the UFC heavyweight title. While he was supposed to defend it the same year against Stipe Miocic, that fight fell through due to Jonesโ€™s injury. Dana White has news on when that fight could potentially happen.

Obviously Jon Jones had a serious injury that he had to have surgery and heโ€™s recovering and no secret about it, Iโ€™m planning on him fighting in November.

As per prior statements, Jones will headline UFC 309 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City. โ€˜Bonesโ€™ tweeted out this information himself but the UFC CEO had not confirmed it yet. However, per Dana Whiteโ€™s statements after UFC 304, interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall will be the backup fighter for the Jones vs. Miocic matchup.

What took Jones out was a serious pectoral injury. During a training session, Jones tore the tendon connecting his pectoral muscle to his bone. The injury resulted in surgery and the champion is currently recovering. As a result, his highly anticipated fight with Miocic was postponed.

Dana White on Conor McGregorโ€™s return

Dana White had a definitive timeline for when his heavyweight champion would return. However, it was not the same case with his star contender, Conor McGregor. The Irishman was supposed to make his highly anticipated comeback this year at UFC 303.

However, just days ahead of his fight with Michael Chandler, the Irishman injured his pinky toe. Refusing to step into the octagon unless he was hundred percent healthy, Conor McGregorโ€™s fight was postponed indefinitely. Dana White talked about it during his interview with TNT Sports.

And then Conor? I donโ€™t know when Conorโ€™s coming back. When Conor is ready to go, heโ€™ll let me know. So, Iโ€™m not even thinking about or talking about Conor right now.

McGregor had come up with a lot of dates ranging from September to the end of the year. However, UFC CEO Dana White has refused to confirm any of the fight dates. He has repeatedly said that he would not consider a fight involving Conor McGregor until he was one hundred percent healthy.
