Dana White is no stranger to bold claims and heavy predictions. But his latest prediction about Power Slap might just take the cake. The UFC CEO recently declared that Power Slap will be bigger than the Ultimate Fighting Championship.  The man behind the $11 billion UFC empire believes slapfighting is the next big thing.

White’s enthusiasm for Power Slap is palpable. At a recent press conference for a Power Slap event, Dana White couldn’t contain his excitement about Power Slap’s success. He boasted about billions of views and millions of followers across social media platforms. He claimed Power Slap would surpass the UFC.

I said it before, and I’ll say it again: This will be the biggest sport in the world, this will be bigger than the UFC.

White’s confidence stems from Power Slap’s explosive growth on social media. White drew parallels between Power Slap’s rise and the early days of UFC.  However, not everyone buys what White sells. Critics argue that Power Slap is dangerous and lacks the skill of traditional combat sports. White’s claims about Power Slap’s popularity haven’t gone unchallenged either.

The UFC CEO recently had to backpedal after claiming Power Slap had more followers than Real Madrid. Turns out, Real Madrid’s 162 million Instagram followers dwarf Power Slap’s 4 million. Despite the hiccups, White remains steadfast in his belief in Power Slap’s potential. But will Power Slap really surpass the UFC? It’s something only time will tell.

Dana White hopes that Power Slap will evolve like the UFC

Dana White, the mastermind behind UFC’s global domination, has a new pet project. It involves grown adults slapping each other silly. This is Power Slap! White recently shared his grand vision for Power Slap on Sebastian Maniscalco’s podcast. He revealed that UFC-like dedicated training setups will be built for the new sport.

The UFC boss dreamt of Power Slap evolving like its older, more established sibling, the UFC. Dana White envisioned dedicated training institutes popping up in the coming years around the world. This would probably look something like the UFC’s Performance Institute.

Yeah so these guys are actually starting to figure out how to train properly. We have a performance institute here in Vegas for the UFC. We actually bring these guys through. They work on neck strength, the power and velocity of a slap and things like this. Just like the UFC it will become more technical and the training it will evolve over the next couple of years.

White optimism for the sport’s future remains too hard to believe. The development of the sport and how far it can progress remains to be seen. The early days of the UFC were just a bunch of guys fighting with no technique. But now, every fighter must know several martial art forms to compete in the UFC. White envisions that happening with the Power Slap as well.
