UFC 307 delivered a thrilling mix of exciting MMA action and heated controversy. In the co-main event, Raquel Pennington successfully defended her women’s bantamweight title against Julianna Pena. However, the outcome sparked significant debate, and Pennington has been vocal about her thoughts on the controversial result in the aftermath of the bout.
It was a highly competitive bout which went for five rounds, and Pena was announced the winner via split decision. It was Pena’s first fight in two years in which she got back her bantamweight title. However, Raquel Pennington was not satisfied with the result. In a recent interview, she explained everything that was wrong at UFC 307.

After the winner was announced, the commentary team, including Joe Rogan, expressed disbelief at the decision. On his YouTube channel, Daniel Cormier strongly backed Pennington as the rightful winner. Similarly, CEO Dana White also voiced his dissatisfaction with the judges’ decision following the fight.

On top of that, as Raquel Pennington mentioned, no media members scored the fight in favor of Pena. The newly crowned champion, however, didn’t feel anything unfair and proudly flexed her win. Pena was also concerned about the judges’ scorecard but fortunately came to the right side of the decision.
Julianna Pena’s next title challenge after win over Raquel Pennington
In the same fight card at UFC 307, former Olympic two-time gold medalist, Kayla Harrison fought against Ketlen Vieira in a title eliminator. It was Harrison’s second bout in the UFC and possibly the toughest one in her entire MMA career. However, this has motivated Harrison to put up a great performance against Julianna Pena in a potential title clash.
Pena and Harrison already have a history with each other and animosity was visible during the UFC 307 pre-fight presser. Harrison and Pena got into a heated argument which will most probably follow into their title clash. In a recent interview, Pena’s coach, Mike Valle talked about this fight.
She’s good. But Julianna is good, too…Whenever Harrison sees Julianna in front of her, she’s going to be like, ‘Oh my God. This girl is way better than what I think.’ And she’s going to be in tons of trouble.

Harrison has made some bold claims and fans are excited to see her against Pena. However, as per ‘The Venezuelan Vixen,’ she has some other plans. According to Pena, a trilogy fight with ‘GOAT’ Amanda Nunes is the right fight for her. While Nunes teased the fans, there is no surety of her comeback.
