In sickness or health, Conor McGregor is always the talk of the town. ‘The Notorious’ was set to meet Michael Chandler at UFC 300. However, he had to withdraw due to some form of leg injury. While announcing McGregor’s withdrawal on June 13, top brass didn’t cue in any re-booking details. Now that their return hangs in the balance, one fighter reigns supreme in the fallout – Dustin Poirier.

Michael Chandler — former Bellator lightweight world champion and current UFC 155lber, hasn’t fought since 2022. His last loss came against Dustin Poirier at UFC 281. ‘Iron’ has been upfront and classy about his stagnant running. UFC 303 would have also marked McGregor’s return since his 2021 trilogy loss and leg break. Dare to venture a guess with who? Poirier again.

Before knocking out ‘The Diamond’ in their first scrap at UFC 178, Conor McGregor did not quite boast his array of prime disses. As a matter of fact, the sportsmanship between them was sky-high. As that changed over time, their rivalry grew and grew. Even recently, the Louisiana lightweight slammed McGregor’s smack talk with a UFC 303 PPV pullout diss.

Now, he kills two birds with one stone in the latest imagery. Poirier does not consider a rivalry with McGregor lingering. But he isn’t shy about jibing him down. Meanwhile, he has long maintained that Michael Chandler plays a dirty game in the octagon. Hence, Poirier posted a quirky Father’s Day gag in his IG Stories. He did join a group of peers in posting “actual” Father’s Day images later.

Another Father’s Day went by. Despite being some of the toughest and most tenacious cookies in all of sports, MMA fighters aren’t opposed to well wishes. Contrarily, this includes Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier as well.

UFC Sauce Boss and ‘War’ monger lightweight veteran Poirier is always ready to rumble. He has an aptitude for battles, which he proved as part of the UFC 299 main card at Kaseya Center in Miami. Poirier is fresh off a fifth-round submission title loss to Islam Makhachev at the UFC 302, a fierce battle yet again. His dormant yet lifelong rivalry with Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor is proof enough.

Yet, he joined a plethora of other figures to celebrate Father’s Day. Here’s a collection of tweets and Instagram snippets from some of those:

With how much stock Poirier puts into his wife and daughter, Parker Noelle Poirier, it’s not uncommon he’d relish being a father. The same goes for other UFC fighters who cherish every moment of their parenthood.
