The scenes in Barbados were absolutely crazy as Team India clinched their second T20 World Cup, winning the silverware after an interminable 17 years. Virat Kohli led the charge with the bat in his hands, hammering away a crucial 76 which made him the leading Indian run-scorer in the history of a T20 World Cup final.
As the world celebrated India’s victory on social media, the players were no exception to this incredible part of their lives. Virat Kohli posted a snap on his Instagram where the Indian team was seen celebrating with the trophy. Iconic MMA fighter, Conor McGregor commented on the post, citing, “Legendary!”
This response from McGregor simply elevated the magnitude of Kohli’s legend across multiple disciplines of the sporting world. McGregor has earned all the repute in the world for that hefty jab of his laced with a lion’s share of his ill-repute too, especially for all the trash talking that he does. But then the kind of charisma that he brings along is simply mind-blowing.
VK has been quite a popular athlete across the globe, not only for his cricketing flair but for his sheer fitness at a ripe age of 35. All the batters including MS Dhoni, AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis who are the fastest amongst the wickets have confessed that running with the man is like challenging a machine.

India had a couple of early jitters in the grand finale where they lost Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant in quick succession. Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t pile up something significant either. It was Kohli and Axar Patel who revamped the innings before Shivam Dube‘s late charge helped India pile up 176.

SKY pulled off an absolute stunner just ahead of the fence to remove David Miller that eventually proved to be the turning point of the game. Virat Kohli was adjudged as the Player of the Match while Bumrah won the Player of the Tournament.
