Conor McGregor is currently facing a civil lawsuit over 2018 alleged assault of Nikita Ni Lamhain (Hand). UFC superstar remains adamant that his involvement with a woman at the end of 2018 was consensual. As the civil se*ual assault trial continues, the jury heard directly from McGregor for the first time on the sixth day of the trial on Wednesday. At this time, his cocaine fueled vices came to the forefront again.
The woman filed a civil lawsuit in 2021, alleging that he and James Lawrence had sex with her against her will in a hotel room in December 2018. This was supposedly while she was intoxicated. Judge Alexander Owensย told the 12 jurors that the case would last two weeks. McGregor took the stand and gave a detailed account of the alleged incident, according to multiple reports.
Nikita Hand and McGregor knew each other from a distance. They met in December 2018 after a fancy dress party that Nikita Ni Lamhain had attended. The pair, along with McGregorโs friend James Lawrence and Handโs colleague Danielle Kealey, took cocaine and went to a hotel room in the wee hours. When questioned by Handโs lawyer, Ms Kealey confirmed this and so did โThe Notorious.โ
Conor McGregor and dubious assault cases are nothing new. The same goes for the MMA community trolling about using cocaine. But thatโs where Hand claims the UFC superstar McGregor forced himself on her. If proven along those lines, it opens up whole new repercussions. On Wednesday, however, McGregor painted a different picture to the one in the lawsuit in January 2021.
Conor McGregor denies assault allegation on stands in โNotoriousโ civil case testimony
According to Mrs Kealey, โeverything was all rightโ in the hotel room. But there was definite involvement of vodka and the usual nose-blow. Nikita Ni Lamhainโs alleges that McGregor and Lawrence had sex with her against her will at various times during the day while under the influence herself. She was also on cocaine after a late night/early morning work party. Lawrence also denies the allegations against him.
A paramedic examining Hand, 35, told the court yesterday she had โnot seenโ anyone so bruised in ages. The four-man, eight-woman jury later heard from a psychiatrist who diagnosed Hand with PTSD and told she โwanted to dieโ. Conor McGregor violently denied the extent of it all:
McGregor confirmed that his car had picked up Hand and her colleague Kealey. However, he disputed many of the other details provided by Hand. The Irishman also said Hand followed him into the bathroom when he unzipped his trousers and made advances. All in all, the case rolls on for now.
