The past few weeks have been quite cumbersome for UFC’s biggest star Conor McGregor. The fallout of the civil case against Nikita Hand left the MMA fighter losing out on millions. Now, stepping into 2025, the 36-year-old fighter is ready to start fresh as he continues to tease the Logan Paul bout for a whooping $250 million. Paul, who is signed with WWE, also showcased his interest in booking the fight.
Latest report pointed towards UFC’s involvement in making this dream fight happen as it did with Floyd Mayweather back in 2017. So far, McGregor has been spotted gearing up for his supposed return to combat sports. The Irish star sparred in both boxing and MMA rules, which leaves the door open for both outing. However, the latest post on X hints towards boxing.
Despite years of inactivity, the 36-year-old star is still hailed as the biggest PPV draw. The Irish superstar allegedly pulled a massive $21 million gate for UFC 303, but unfortunately pulled out due to an injury. Now, waiting on the sidelines, the former UFC champion is hinting at his life’s biggest fight roping in the Ambani family into the world of combat sports.

UFC CEO Dana White did not offer any comments regarding the ongoing rumors floating around. It is unclear when or where will McGregor take his talents next as the business tycoon has dipped all his fingers in multiple lucrative ventures. It remains to be seen if the UFC participates in the lucrative McGregor vs. Paul bout, considering the money involved.
Dana White just might book Conor McGregor and Logan Paul for this reason
Dana White has been quite apprehensive about booking fights outside of the promotion. For years, bantamweight star Sean O’Malley has extended call-outs to face boxing royalties in Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney and more. Unfortunately, White showcased no interest in pulling another crossover boxing bout. So, what would allow the UFC chief to change course and book this mega-fight next?
For starters, both McGregor and Paul are signed with the TKO group. This would give both WWE and UFC incentive to collaborate in booking a mega-fight that can be mutually beneficial for all parties involved. Moreover, ever since the two organizations merged together, fans have seen growing collaborations between them.
India’s wealthiest Ambani family could finance the whole event just like Saudi GEA continues to do for in boxing. Incidentally, it creates a more straight forward pathway for both promotions as $250 million for McGregor and Paul doesn’t make sense. The biggest budget for a UFC event remains the $20+ million for Noche UFC PPV. Whether this clash will happen in 2025 or not remains to be seen.
