The outspoken Irishman of the UFC has landed in hot water again. Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor recently took aim at Islam Makhachev with a racist remark in a since-deleted tweet. As always, McGregor stuck to his pattern and deleted the tweet after some time.

The tweet was posted on McGregor’s official account. In the offending tweet, McGregor insulted Islam Makhachev‘s lineage and insinuated that they were ‘inbred.’ The tweet came after the reigning UFC lightweight king had publicly addressed McGregor recently.

Cousin f***ers.

This is far from the first time Conor McGregor‘s unfiltered opinions sparked outrage. The 35-year-old has a long history of crossing the line with inflammatory statements about opponents’ racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.

This was on full display before his much-anticipated fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov. The trash-talking was so severe that even the usually calm Nurmagomedov snapped. He jumped out of the octagon after beating McGregor and entered a brawl at UFC 229.

The incident marred the lead-up to UFC 302 in Newark next weekend. Makhachev will attempt to defend his 155-pound title for the third time against Dustin Poirier. Meanwhile, McGregor has a fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29. Ahead of the lightweight title bout, McGregor seemingly fired another shot at Makhachev.

Conor McGregor predicts the winner of the UFC 302 main event

Conor McGregor recently gave his analysis of Islam Makhachev’s third title defense against Dustin Poirier. In a classic striker vs. grappler battle, McGregor has made his choice. One could say his supposed hatred toward the Dagestani fighters may have played a part in predicting the fight.

McGregor felt Poirier had what it takes to knock out Makhachev. The Irishman cited a previous knockout loss on Makhachev’s record to support his argument.

I think Dustin can do him. I think Dustin knocks him (Makhachev) out…. He’s (Makhachev’s) been knocked out by a back check hook from a southpaw before inside the UFC. You know, that’s one of Dustin’s best shots. If Dustin’s ever going to do it, it’ll be this time.

McGregor referred to Makhachev’s lone career defeat via knockout nearly a decade ago. However, he failed to acknowledge the strength of Makhachev and how it can overwhelm Poirier. In the past, Poirier struggled against the grappling of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Charles Oliveira, and The Korean Zombie. As such, Makhachev has the edge on paper. Nevertheless, McGregor expects Poirier to get the job done.
