Conor McGregor has been battling a civil case since 2018 against Nikita Hand. After years of legal deliberation, the court finally reached a verdict demanding the UFC star to pay $250,000. Things haven’t been going McGregor’s way ever since the court ruling found him guilty. In the light of the ruling, he has been dropped from the famous video game franchise ‘Hitman’. Taking to X, the former UFC champion issued a public apology, breaking his days of silence.
In the public post, the star showcased remorse for a few critical errors made in 2018 that led to this mishap. Conor McGregor urged the world that everything that transpired on that fateful night was consensual. He even extended a heartfelt apology to his partner Dee Devlin for stepping out on her. He concluded the message by vowing to make a return to the combat sports world for his fans.
The Irish star hasn’t been active within the MMA world since striking gold against Floyd Mayweather. From competing multiple times in one year to only making an appearance once in years, this decrease in activity can be partly because of the lavish lifestyle and lucrative outside business ventures that the star manages. His last outing in 2021 against Dustin Poirier saw him suffer a career-ending leg injury.
People want to hear from me, I needed time. I know I made mistakes. Six years ago, I should have never responded to her outreaches. I should have shut the party down. I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world. That’s all on me.
As much as I…

Ever since then, McGregor has been sidelined with hopes of returning against Dan Hooker in 2025. However, his UFC timeline seems ambiguous, after the Michael Chandler saga and no opponent in sight. The star has been seen engaging in outside ventures like BKFC and more. Unfortunately, one such collaboration with IO Interactive, the studio behind the Hitman franchise, has been pulled in light of the civil case verdict.
IO Interactive announces removal of Conor McGregor from Hitman: World of Assassins after civil case verdict
Bad news seems to keep pouring in for the Irish star. Not long ago, IO Interactive announced a collaboration with an Irish star to help promote the latest entry in the Hitman universe. However, after the ill-fated court verdict, the studio has ceased their partnership with the athlete.
The studio, through their official channel, made the announcement on X confirming the move. Conor McGregor was added to the title as DLC Mission: The Disruptor. Originally, the DLC content would go live from November 15th to December 8 along with a disruptor pack, all for $5. Now, after recent developments, everything is set to be pulled from the game.
In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately. We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all…

This isn’t the Irish star’s first collaboration with the video game world. Previously, Activision tapped into the star power of the UFC champion to promote their title, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The concept of the title didn’t work in the market, but seeing McGregor in a famous franchise certainly put a stamp on his star power.
