Due to the situation in Dagestan, Russia, the MMA world is abuzz with rife and speculation. This came after Russian forces raided UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s gym for possible link to recent terror attacks in Dagestan. Fierce rival Conor McGregor never misses a chance to stir the pot. As such, he continued to mock his rival on X.

The Irish fighter gleefully proclaimed, “#ConorWasRight.” He referenced their UFC 229 press conference, where he accused Khabib of taking money from Ziyavudin Magomedov, who was arrested in 2018 for corruption. Moreover, Conor McGregor had also hinted at Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz’s alleged past as an FBI informant. As such, McGregor continues to claim that he was right all along.

The gym named after Khabib’s late father, was swarmed by authorities. They’re investigating connections to the June 23 attacks that claimed 21 lives. One of the terrorists was reportedly a former student at the gym. ‘The Eagle’ quickly distanced himself from the situation. He stated the attacker was never part of the team. Nevertheless, law enforcement agencies have a duty to fulfill in eliminating any potential threats.

Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s gym was funded by Ziyavudin Magomedov. As such, McGregor continues to push his narrative as the story progresses. The gym remains home to many athletes competing in different promotions across the world. Hence, the gym can only function properly once the Russian forces conclude their investigations.

A legend was formed in the rugged mountains of Dagestan back in 1992. Not just for one fighter but for many. Founded in 1992, this gym has become a training ground for champions. It’s like a fighter factory, churning out world-class athletes. Later, it became the Eagles MMA, funded by Ziyavudin Magomedov.

At the helm was Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, a man with a vision. He didn’t just train fighters; he molded men. His philosophy? Discipline, hard work, and a dash of Dagestani grit. The gym’s most famous product was none other than the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, Khabib’s just the tip of the iceberg in this talent pool.

Current lightweight champion Islam Makhachev hails from the same gym. Other top-level fighters include bantamweight prospect Umar Nurmagomedov, his brother, the Bellator champion Usman Nurmagomedov, and others. Light heavyweight contender Magomed Ankalaev also remains on the verge of a title shot.

Khabib Numagomedov himself has opened several schools and constructed one of the biggest gyms in Yas Island. Even President Vladimir Putin had announced that a school would be built in Dagestan in Khabib’s honor. The success of the gym built by Abdulmanap is no accident. It’s the result of rigorous training and unwavering dedication.
