Following this, McGregor demanded UFC CEO Dana White clarity on his return date. His injury required extensive rehabilitation, and speculation emerged over whether McGregor had used prohibited substances during his recovery. Despite being out of competition for a while, McGregor has been one of the most tested athletes in 2024 under the UFC’s anti-doping protocols.

While McGregor originally had his sights set on fighting Michael Chandler, the possibility of that fight happening soon seems uncertain. Chandler has accepted another bout against Charles Oliveira later this year.
