I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t in deep pain right now watching fight week take place. Deep mental pain. Thank you for the messages of support and encouragement, my peers and fans.

McGregor was supposed to take on Michael Chandler, headlining the main event at UFC 303. However, an unexpected toe injury decided that the Irishman had to sit back and watch. Meanwhile, Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka replaced them, headlining the main event – a light heavyweight title rematch. This was not the only replacement that fans witnessed on the UFC 303 fight card. Jamahal Hill and Carlos Ulberg were replaced by Anthony Smith and Roman Dolidze.

Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes will headline the co-main event. Meanwhile, Mayra Bueno Silva Vs Macy Chiasson and Ian Garry Vs Michael Page are the only two original matchups remaining on the main card. As for Conor McGregor Vs Michael Chandler, there is no news of an official rescheduling.

Dana White had already addressed it once at the UFC Saudi Arabia post-fight press conference. He had stated that he would not even ponder on the Irishman’s return until he was completely healthy. Now in a recent backstage interview with Robbie Fox from Barstool Sports, Fox asked if McGregor could indeed return this year in August, September or October. To this White replied,“None of the above”.

That means if ‘The Notorious’ does return this year, he would likely make a comeback at November’s event at New York’s Madison Square Garden or a potential December showdown. Michael Chandler is still the expected opponent although nothing is sure as of now. ‘Iron’ has not fought since 2022, would he wait another six months to fight the UFC star?
