Conor McGregor‘s comeback to the world of combat sports has remained a talk of discussion throughout 2024. Initially, it was UFC 303, but it got scrapped due to his pinky toe injury. Now, McGregor plans to make his boxing return next year against Logan Paul and many experts are positive about this.
Conor McGregor recently announced that he is in talks with the Indian billionaire family, The Ambani’s. According to the ‘Notorious,’ he will fight WWE star Logan Paul in a boxing bout. UFC veteran Matt Brown talked about this in a recent podcast and expressed his eagerness and excitement for this new development.
McGregor hasn’t fought in more than three years. However, this hasn’t affected his fan following at all. Fight fans are still eager to pay money to see him fight in the future, either in UFC or in boxing. For McGregor, it will be his first boxing bout since his clash with the legendary Floyd Mayweather.
The Irishman has lately faced a guilty verdict in a civil lawsuit, which has affected his revenue sources. The UFC superstar has lost several brand deals and is losing millions on a daily basis. In this situation, getting paid millions of dollars to fight Logan Paul, who is not a fighter, seems too good of a deal.
UFC veteran picks Conor McGregor against Logan Paul
Conor McGregor, in his prime, was a sharpshooter and had a lethal punching power. He had a wider karate stance and was light on his feet. However, things have changed a lot since then. The ‘Notorious’ has now developed a boxing-centric style and lacks the speed. On top of that, he doesn’t possess the same hunger.
However, despite all that against someone like Logan Paul, McGregor is still a fan favorite. UFC legend Michael Johnson recently reviewed that fight and chose McGregor as his pick. According to the veteran fighter, Paul doesn’t have the ability to stop the ‘Notorious’
Interestingly, there was some news about Jake Paul potentially replacing Logan Paul to fight McGregor in India. While Paul never confirmed this publicly, many fans think this is a better fight. As a boxer, Jake has more credentials than Logan and the beef between him and McGregor will just add to it.
