Joaquin Buckley has been very vocal ever since his win at UFC St. Louis. He has called out some of the biggest names in the division and he does not seem to stop. The UFC welterweight recently warned some of the top dogs in the UFC like Charles Oliveira, Conor McGregor, Michael Chandler, and others.

Joaquin Buckley recently sent out an interesting tweet on X. In that tweet, he warned Charles Oliveira, Michael Chandler, Conor McGregor, and others that they would be light work for him if they moved up to 170 lbs.

All these Lightweights moving up to 170 @ufc Sh***t all this heavy lifting Iโ€™ve been doing I am looking for some light work RDA, Oliveira, Chandler, and McGregor.

Joaquin Buckley had previously called out Conor McGregor during his octagon interview at UFC St. Louis. Buckley had not only talked about McGregor but mentioned his family as well. This did not earn the approval of anybody as many called him out for his words against the UFC star. Daniel Cormier called it horrible that he talked about McGregorโ€™s mother and said it could not have gotten worse.

Even Michael Bisping who held the mic at his octagon interview said that Buckley went too far. He said that Buckley tried to insult McGregor and his family to give the Irish star a reason to want to fight him. However, Bisping mentioned that although he liked a bit of trash-talking, Buckley went too far in his callout.

Why did Joaquin Buckley move from the middleweight to the welterweight division?

Joaquin Buckley has had 13 fights in his UFC career. Not all of them were in the welterweight division. Buckley was in the middleweight division till 2022. But why did he move down to 170 lbs?

Yeah. I got tired of getting knocked out; I ain’t going to lie to you. Being at 185, you got a lot of heavy hitters out there. One thing about me, mentally, I’m not scared to fight anybody, but sometimes that’s the problem. It’s not about being scared, it’s about being smart.

The middleweight division is a division of heavy hitters. It hosts the likes of Israel Adesanya, Sean Strickland, Robert Whittaker, and Paulo Costa who do not hit lightly. And this was the reason why Buckley left the 185 lb weight class. He currently ranks #11 in the division.
