Colby Covington and Daniel Cormier‘s relationship might be in jeopardy after recent comments about each other. ‘Chaos’ recently did an interview where he talked about Daniel Cormier and his comments about not accepting a fight with Ian Garry. According to the former interim champion, Cormier would do anything to get some clickbait.

Colby Covington recently made an appearance on the SOSCAST podcast. During their discussion, the welterweight made a comment about Daniel Cormier.

I love Daniel Cormier as well, he’s a friend of mine. But everybody knows he’s a media head now so he’ll do anything to get some clickbait.

‘Chaos’ addressed DC’s comments on the Ian Garry vs. Colby Covington fight that never happened. Covington said that Cormier did not know what he was talking about. He said DC has never been ‘the A-side’ so he does not know what it is like to call his shots and wait for the right opportunities. The former interim champion declared that his biggest focus was to get healthy. He does not need to fight for money, as he has made enough to never have to fight again.

Daniel Cormier had said a few things on his YouTube channel about Covington losing a couple of fights in a row and being unwilling to fight Ian Garry. He said the former interim champion should step back and not really say much at all until another fight comes his way. DC said he did not understand why Covington was hesitant to fight Ian Garry and that was what he was going to get after his performance against Leon Edwards at UFC 296.

Daniel Cormier had warned Leon Edwards about fighting Colby Covington

UFC veteran Daniel Cormier was highly appreciative of Colby Covington at one point. Before the title fight at UFC 296, Cormier had made some comments on his YouTube channel about ‘Chaos’ and his incredible work ethic that made him a ‘tremendous competitor’.

Leon Edwards had worked up his wrestling and had made some significant improvements over the years. However, Daniel Cormier decided to warn the welterweight champion about fighting a wrestler like Covington.

DC said it was ‘amazing’ to see Covington have the career that he has had. He said ‘Chaos’ was not the fastest, strongest, or biggest competitor on the scene. However, he was the guy who still managed to become a multiple-time NCAA All-American. Covington was an NCAA Division I All-American wrestler from 2007 to 2011, competing in the 165-pound weight class for Oregon State University. He was a Midwestern Conference champion and maintained an undefeated record of 34-0 at one point.
