Ian Garry cannot seem to get some of the top names to face him in the octagon. In his latest interview, Garry listed out a bunch of fighters including Colby Covington, Michael Page, and others who allegedly turned down a fight offer against him.
Ian Garry recently sat down for a conversation with talkSPORT. During their discussion, Garry talked about his next potential fight and the list of fighters he agreed to take on in the octagon.
I feel like I’ve gone through about eight or nine names… They’ve offered me Colby, I’ve said ‘yes’ to ‘MVP’, I have said ‘yes’ to Sean Brady… I’ve said ‘yes’ to Joaquin Buckley. I’ve said ‘yes’ to every single person that has come my way. That is what I do.

Ian Garry and Colby Covington had a heated back-and-forth in the past few months. Garry had been pushing for a throwdown with Covington after he publicly disrespected his wife and his family. Although the feud was going strong, Covington suddenly retraced from his statement. He recently declared that he is only interested in legacy matchups now and called out Belal Muhammad and Charles Oliveira.
Garryโs last fight was against Geoff Neal at UFC 298. He wants to fight again this year on the Conor McGregor undercard at UFC 303. However, Garry does not seem to be able to land any opponents for his dream event. There is a potential showdown with Michael โVenomโ Page for UFC 303 but Michael Page and his coaches are reportedly considering the offer.

But the truth is thereโs a new wave of talent coming through. When you look at it, you can see it quite clearly. Thereโs me. Thereโs Shavkat. Thereโs Jack Della Maddalena. Thereโs three examples of younger guys coming in and tearing up the division.

Ian Garry called out the โolder guysโ in the division who were on their way out or down. He said they are trying to maintain and hold their spot so they can have some sort of ego about it. He also talked about the top contenders including the division champion who are fighting only twice a year. Meanwhile, Garry declared that he wanted to fight three or four fights a year.
