Colby Covington says Ian Garry is not serious about his stipulations

Colby Covington and Ian Garry continue to have an intense rivalry in the UFC. The saga of whether Colby Covington has received an offer to fight Ian Garry continues. Garry has repeatedly claimed contracts were sent out, while Covington denied it.

Colby Covington came on as a guest on the Rush Podcast, hosted by NFL star Maxx Crosby. He doubled down on his comments about not receiving a fight offer. The former interim champ said the UFC had not presented him with that fight offer yet. Moreover, Covington called Garry a liar for spreading false rumors in an attempt to remain relevant.

We all know that he’s a cuck, but now we know he’s a liar. UFC, Hunter (Campbell), Dana (White), they haven’t talked to me about this fight. This fight has not been presented. He’s just lying and he’s trying to get clickbait and people to talk about him.

Covington also talked about the possibility of fighting Belal Muhammad. Covington and Muhammad share a heated rivalry that stems from last year when the UFC gave ‘Chaos’ a title shot over the Palestinian-American star. He said a win over Muhammad could put him back into title contention. Covington showcased respect for the UFC and said that, ultimately, they would decide who he would fight next.

Previously, Covington had issued stipulations to Garry for a fight to happen. This had led to a lot of back and forth between the two welterweights. Garry recently revealed that he had signed the fight offer, but Covington was ducking him. Covington has his eyes set on Muhammad if the fight with Ian Garry doesn’t materialize.

Garry was present at UFC 301 in Rio. In a fiery interview, Garry launched an expletive-filled rant directed squarely at Covington. He demanded Covington to accept the fight. The Irish fighter showcased his confidence and said he would absolutely demolish Covingtomn in the fight.

If Colby signs that contract [to fight me], I’m gonna walk out with my knee up going. Take the f****** thing and let’s see what happens… I promise you now. There’s no doubt in my mind I will rag doll him.

Garry doubted that Covington would sign the contract to make the grudge match official. The undefeated 26-year-old felt Covington was merely using him to stay relevant after his title fight loss to Leon Edwards last year. Garry had recently revealed his preference to fight Covington at UFC 303 on June 29th in Las Vegas. UFC 303 features Conor McGregor‘s highly anticipated return against Michael Chandler. As such, Covington vs. Garry in the main card would make it a must-watch PPV card of the year.
