CM Punk reveals how he dealt with Tony Khan after ranting at AEW All Out media scrum

The man whom CM Punk regrets the most being the one to suffer unnecessarily during the All Out media scrum was Tony Khan. During the entire shoot, Khan had no idea what was going to transpire that night. What has happened in past 9 months isn’t confidential to anyone. In his 1st public interview since September, Punk stopped by ESPN to discuss a variety of topics.

He broke his silence regarding everything that he’s been gone through during his absence. One of the key highlights of that conversation was how he rekindled with Tony Khan. Feeling sorry for that man, Punk revealed that he apologized from the bottom of his heart when they met. The former AEW Champion had contrite written all over himself for his deeds at the press conference.

“The first thing I said to Tony when I sat down with him and spoke to him after it was, ‘Man, I’m really sorry I put you in that position.’ I apologize for the scrum. But when you’ve watched that scrum, you’re looking at a very, very frustrated guy who had told people. That’s not the first time he heard all that. It’s not the first time lawyers were told all that.”

Punk also revealed that he completely mishandled the entire situation. Even after making efforts, he wasn’t able to establish any sort of communication between himself and The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks). Phil also stressed how poorly the online reports have affected his reputation. There’s a lot more Punk had to say during that one-to-one chat with ESPN.

Needless to say, Tony Khan would be hoping for a smooth transitioning of things. It’s been told to Punk that none of his issues with The Elite are going to make it to television for storyline purposes. However, who knows what could change any given moment in professional wrestling.

Apart from that, Punk is booked for a return match too. He’ll team up with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler (the FTR) to take on Jay White, Juice Robinson and Samoa Joe. Additionally, he’s reportedly scheduled for face KENTA next week at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
