The ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor is undeniably one of the biggest superstars in the combat sports community. Moreover, the Irishman is also known for headlining big pay-per-view events. British boxing star Chris Eubank Jr. has recently expressed his desire to fight McGregor.

Chris Eubank Jr. fought on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol fight card last night. The British boxer faced Kamil Szeremeta and comfortably defeated his opponent with a vicious KO in the seventh round. After the fight, Eubank Jr. talked with Saudi GEA Chairman Turki Alalshikh about his next potential fight. During that, the British boxer expressed his desire to fight against Conor McGregor.

The relationship between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor McGregor is not marked by personal animosity. Interestingly, McGregor’s business venture previously sponsored an event involving the British boxer as well. Despite the lack of personal animosity, Eubank Jr. is seemingly interested in facing McGregor in the ring. One of the main reasons for this could be the Irishman’s significant influence within the community.

Due to this, the Irishman has solidified his reputation as a highly sought-after opponent for a “red panty night.” However, there are indications of a potentially compelling matchup for Eubank Jr. This became apparent following the British boxer’s recent heated altercation last night.

Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn were scheduled to have a highly anticipated bout in October 2022. However, the fight had to be called off due to Benn testing positive for drugs. However, both fighters seem to have an ongoing interest in squaring off in the ring. As such, Eubank Jr. even expressed this desire in a post-fight interview.

Conor Benn is next on the hit list. I wanna squash this kid, man. I wanna get him out of boxing… Turki (Alalshikh) wants that fight. So the fight’s gonna happen…

Interestingly, Benn is currently suspended from fighting in the UK due to the same positive drug results discovered before his fight against Eubank Jr. Consequently, his last two fights occurred in America, where he defeated Peter Dobson and Rodolfo Orozco. However, the suspension is expected to end soon. It will be intriguing to see if these two boxers will be matched up next.
