Charles Oliveira and Conor McGregor are undoubtedly fan-favorite superstars in the UFC. A fight between Oliveira and McGregor could have been one of the biggest fights in UFC history. However, the Brazilian isnโ€™t ready to face off with the โ€˜Notoriousโ€™ yet. As such, โ€˜Do Bronxโ€™ is focused on regaining his lightweight title.

Charles Oliveira is currently booked to face Michael Chandler in the co-main event of UFC 309. However, ahead of that, he recently attended an interview session with Laerte Viana. The Brazilian MMA journalist seemed interested in the recent developments in the UFC lightweight division. As such, he laid out several intriguing questions for Do Bronx. During that, Viana asked Oliveira what would be his choice between a Conor McGregor fight and a title shot.

Definitely the same thing (get close to the title). I just said I won and I’m close to the line again for the title…

Although Do Bronx wants the title shot next, he doesnโ€™t want to remove McGregor from the picture. Per Oliviera, if he wins against Chandler and has to wait for the title fight between Islam Makhchev and Arman Tsarukyan, he would opt to fight the Irishman. Interestingly, this is not the first time, when the Brazilian fighter has set his eyes on Conor McGregor. As such, following his victory at UFC 262, Oliveira asserted his wish to defend his title against the Notorious.

Charles Oliveira lost his belt at UFC 280 against Islam Makhachev. After that, he had the opportunity for a rematch against the Dagestani fighter. Interestingly, even then, Do Bronx seemed quite optimistic about a fight with Conor McGregor rather than a title fight. One of the main reasons for his interest in fighting the Irishman is McGregorโ€™s massive popularity. With that being said, the Brazilian fighter believes that a fight between him and McGregor could break several records.

Similarly, Oliveira also has a reputation for putting out exquisite performances. His fights against Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier are prime examples of it. However, with such exciting stats of both McGregor and Oliveira, it will be interesting to see how their fight would unfold. Per Do Bronx, he claims that the fight would have the potential to break several UFC records.

This one fight (McGregor vs. Oliveira) is a fight that we will, I think we will stop the world. Both Conor (McGregor) sells a lot and I also sell a lot, so for me it will definitely be a PPV record, it is a fight that the whole world wants to see…
