And to top it off, he was guarded by one of the hottest prospects of the NBA, in the name of Victor Wembanyama, which made it an even better shot. So much so, that Wemby had a few words to Kyrie, which he later shared in the postgame interview.

Big fella just came over and said that was a ‘lucky shot.
Kyrie would later go on to explain his move stating,
I caught him with the hesi, baseline. He thought I was gonna go reverse and I went middle.
Adding that kind of move may or may not work at times. But in that particular moment, it did, which he was ever grateful for.
Kyrie Irving, who wasn’t named in the upcoming NBA All-Star 2024, may have had something to prove as to why he is still one of the most decorated players in the league. And that move might have just justified how he is getting back to his best.
In a game that saw the Dallas Mavericks get their 116-93 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, it was a game filled with excitement and moments of magic. As for Kyrie, it was one of his best games in a Mavericks shirt, with a notable highlight that could only be described as “dazzling”.

The Point Guard contributed to 34 points, 7 assists, and 9 rebounds, enough to give the Mavs a win on home ground. For the opposing side, it was Victor Wembanyama yet again leading the lines for them who got 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. While it was a stellar performance from the Rookie, it wasn’t enough to get them the win.
With that win, the Dallas Mavericks now sit 7th in the Western Conference, and with the 2nd half of the season still to play, this talented team could bring a lot of surprises in the long run.
