Off the fight life, Conor McGregor is loving life as an MMA promoter. โThe Notoriousโ is usually in the smacking middle of chaos and the one causing it. But now, the BKFC equity part-owner is relishing his role as such, as he finds himself in the middle of chaos. McGregor was at BKFC on DAZN: Spainย to promote the countryโs first BKFC event.ย
The former dual-weight UFC champion has been pushing his role on his social media pages ever since the kickoff Spain presser. He even talked it up over the yearโs Noche PPV and Canelo Alvarezโs latest boxing bout. On Friday, McGregor took charge of brushing off two fighters at the BKFC on DAZN: Spain weigh-ins before the matchup at the Marbella Arena. As security personnel dragged off headliners Franco Tenaglia and Tony Soto, an ecstatic โMacโ was having all of it!
The fighters tried to get the fight started 24 hours early with an on-stage brawl. But McGregor inserted himself and stole the spot away. McGregor, holding the BKFC belt, jumped in to make sure things didnโt go off the rails. He even hoisted the title and kept shouting โYeahโ as he enjoyed the carnage around. President David Feldmanโs BKFC and management were hoping the โNotoriousโ effect would rub off, and it has.

During the rest of the pre-fight event, McGregor was jumping around the stage, shouting and high-fiving others. The 36-year-old reserved an extra-warm reception for bare-knuckle debutant Oscar Willis, content manager for โThe Mac Lifeโ (@TheMacLife)โMcGregorโs MMA news outlet. Outside of UFC and vying for free agency, the superstar is locked in for BKFC. When and if he should return, McGregor is on the lookout for new opponents.
Conor McGregor seeks new UFC comeback opponent
Conor McGregor has been on a three-year layoff since his ill-fated leg break against Dustin Poirier. At the UFC 303 PPV, Michael Chandler was to welcome him back after his 2021 TKO loss. But the Dubliner hurt his pinky toe again and pulled out of media obligations.
After nearly two years of waiting, Chandler has finally decided to move on. He will take the fight to Charles Oliveira in the Madison Square Garden pay-per-view blockbuster co-mains for UFC 309. McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) still hopes that โThe Ultimate Fighterโ saga ends with โIronโ. But he is also on the lookout for other opportunities.
Chandler (23-8 MMA, 2-3 UFC) hopes the โMacโ billing doesnโt end here. He is looking forward to a rematch with Oliveira, then probably scraps with either the Irihsman or challenging the 155-pound gold. However, Dominance MMA manager and nemesis Ali Abdelaziz says thatโs just the promotional line. All fighters are just told to maintain the โgoodyโ storyline vs. McGregor. Whereas, Abdelaziz claimed McGregor has said no to Justin Gaethje multiple times.
The duo haveย traded barbs in the past, with McGregor relinquishing his take on the 155-pound title,ย but never fought each other. During the Contender Series 75 post-fightย conference, UFC CEO Dana White said he doubts such claims. However, there is no hope on the horizon for a โConnie comebackโ yet.
