On the latest episode of SmackDown, Asuka was presented with a new championship title, replacing the Raw Women’s Championship. However, The Empress of Tomorrow was already confronted by an old opponent. Surprisingly, the challenger was none other than 14-time Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair.
Asuka defeated Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship. The two faced each other at Night of Champions in Jeddah. During the match, The Empress of Tomorrow used her green mist and smeared it in the eyes of Belair before defeating her. This was Asuka’s fourth title victory on the main roster.
The champion replied to her returning challenger’s tweet in the latest banter online. Charlotte Flair posted a GIF of herself flipping her hair. The post was captioned, “Mood”. As a result, Asuka replied to the tweet with a GIF with the same caption. It was a Dragon Ball-inspired GIF with Asuka and Charlotte’s faces stuck on the characters’ faces. It looked as if Asuka wished to slap Flair in the face.
The multi-time Women’s Champion returned to SmackDown after months of absence. She was last seen at WrestleMania 39, when Rhea Ripley defeated Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. With her return, The Queen set her eyes on the new champion on SmackDown. She did not waste any time in challenging Asuka for a title match.
The feud will be interesting to watch, as Bianca Belair also demanded her rematch against Asuka. Therefore, moving forward, both women will chase Asuka for the championship on the Blue Brand. This should result in a match among the women at the upcoming premium events.
Bianca Belair reacts to Charlotte Flair’s return on SmackDown
Fans were thrilled to see Charlotte Flair return to SmackDown after months of absence. However, Bianca Belair was not one of them. The former Raw Women’s Champion took to Twitter to complain about the segment.
Before the Championship presentation ceremony, Adam Pearce made it clear that Belair should not interrupt Asuka during the segment. Therefore, the EST followed the orders and did not come out. However, Asuka was interrupted by a returning Charlotte Flair, making Belair frustrated.
After the segment, Bianca Belair showed her anger on Twitter, saying that she did exactly what was expected of her. Charlotte Flair just walked in on the segment and demanded a championship match. The EST of WWE failed to find any sense in the entire thing and was looking for answers. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how things shape up on SmackDown.
