It appears to be a sad moment for fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and it may have gotten to Anthony Edwards as he is set to feel the impact of Karl-Anthony Towns’ departure. The team recently traded Towns to the New York Knicks in exchange for Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and a first-round pick from the Detroit Pistons.
Speaking at the Timberwolves’ media day on the potential trade, Anthony Edwards expressed how he really feels about the trade. Furthermore, he also reflected on the close relationship he shared with Karl-Anthony Towns, who was a foundational player before Edwards’ time with the team.

Despite the emotional toll of the trade, Ant-Man understands the business nature of the NBA. He also expressed optimism about meeting the new players and adapting to the changes within the team.

The goodness about the whole trade is that with KAT gone, the T-Wolves will look to Randle and DiVincenzo to contribute and bring a fresh dynamic to the roster. As for Towns, his departure draws the close of a curtain for the franchise where he began his career.

It’s been expected that Anthony Edwards will be the face of the Minnesota Timberwolves and with an insider claiming he was responsible, after the recent trade to send Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks. And while Timberwolves president of basketball operations, Tim Connelly couldn’t comment on the trade during the team’s media day, he stage bits of clues.

Fans have observed that Connelly’s willingness to part with Towns reflects the organization’s belief in Edwards’ capabilities and future stardom. During media day for the Wolves, he expressed confidence that Edwards has the potential to be among the best players in NBA history.
