Anna Kendrick couldn’t contain her excitement when talking about the highly anticipated sequel to A Simple Favor, where she joins forces once again with the fabulous Blake Lively. The first installment, which hit theaters back in 2018, followed the journey of Stephanie (portrayed by Kendrick), a single mother delving into the mysterious vanishing of her sophisticated friend Emily (brought to life by Lively).

This time around, the sequel took Kendrick and Lively to the enchanting landscapes of Europe, with scenes shot in breathtaking locations like Rome and Capri. Kendrick gushed about feeling utterly “spoiled rotten” while filming in such picturesque settings. The camaraderie between the two leading ladies was as strong as ever, with Kendrick likening their reunion to effortlessly “riding a bike” despite their hectic schedules on opposite coasts.

While remaining tight-lipped about specific plot details, Kendrick hinted at the sequel’s intensified storyline, promising a rollercoaster of emotions with a blend of the bizarre, risky, and heavily twisted narrative. Reflecting on the initial movie, Kendrick reminisced about it being the wildest project she had ever tackled, praising director Paul Feig for weaving a dark and intricate tale in A Simple Favor.

Beyond her on-screen ventures, Kendrick is set to make her directorial debut with Woman of the Hour, a spine-chilling Netflix true-crime drama centered around the infamous serial killer Rodney Alcala, who infamously appeared on The Dating Game in 1978. Kendrick, initially cast as an actor in the project, found herself at the helm of this intense and emotionally charged film.

For those eager to catch Woman of the Hour, it is currently playing in select theaters and is set to premiere on Netflix on October 18, 2024. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on this gripping tale.
