In addition to that, Reese was also named in the Sports Illustrated Power list which featured 50 most influential names in sports. The rookie has a very appropriate reaction to the news.
Angel Reese shared the 50 influential sports personality list with athletes such as NBA star LeBron James, Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, and more. The list was not limited to athletes only, making it all the more credible.
Sports Illustrated took to X to announce the aforementioned list attaching Reese’s picture, previous Wednesday. The list came hours after Reese was announced as the cover feature of the October issue. The Chicago Sky rookie retweeted the post with a single word reaction.

Angel Reese has undeniably had an incredible rookie season. The Sky star player broke league record for most consecutive double-doubles, posting one in 15 games straight. Additionally, she broke the league’s single season rebound record but was recently overtaken by A’ja Wilson. She was one of the promising contenders for the Rookie of the Year Award. However, her rookie season was cut short due to an unfortunate injury.
Besides Reese, a couple of other esteemed WNBA players made the list, including Indiana Fever sensation Caitlin Clark. The magazine highlighted Clark’s influence both on and off the court. Another notable athlete was Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson. The reigning Finals MVP is currently aiming for her third straight WNBA title. Wilson also recently made history by breaking the record for the most points in a single regular season.
Angel Reese claims wrist injury won’t stop her
Angel Reese was recently ruled out of her rookie season due to a wrist injury. However, that hasn’t stopped her from showing up in the stands to cheer for her teammates. She has also remained active on social media, frequently posting updates and staying connected with her fans.
In a recent tweet, a fan joked about Angel Reese’s “inability to sit down” despite her injury, sharing a picture of Reese in the stands flashing peace signs with a brace on her wrist. The rookie sensation confidently replied, saying the wrist wasn’t going to stop her.
Since her wrist is already out of a hard cast, her recovery seems to be going well. Reese plans to be fully healed before the start of the new women’s 3-on-3 basketball league, Unrivaled, which begins in January. Fans are hopeful to see her back on the court soon.
