"And go backwards," George Russell brutally mocks Lando Norris over poor results in races after strong qualifying performances

The following paragraph discusses the importance of physical exercise in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Regular exercise has numerous benefits for both physical and mental health, and can help prevent a variety of chronic diseases.

Lando Norris has had a rather disappointing 2023 F1 season so far. The Briton has failed to get decent performances with the MCL60 as McLaren struggles to match its rivals. However, Norris surprised the paddock when he clinched P3 in Qualifying for the Spanish GP. Unfortunately, things did not go so well in the race. George Russell took a dig at his fellow countryman.

Norris and Russell took part in a video for the official F1 YouTube channel during the Spanish GP weekend. The two tried to predict their ratings on the F1 23 game. When discussing the Racecraft of the drivers, Lando mentioned that he might fall behind in the ratings. The 23-year-old highlighted a problem he had faced so far this season.

Lando Norris reckoned that he had performed decent Qualifying performances as he took the MCL60 way higher than it deserved in the pecking order. Russell agreed with the McLaren driver and highlighted that Lando tends to return during the races. George said, โ€œAnd go backwardsโ€. A cheeky dig by the Mercedes driver to a fellow Briton. Although Norris took the comment graciously and agreed with the 25-year-old.

Lando Norris has scored only 12 points so far in 2023, with McLaren falling behind in the pecking order. The 23-year-old has shown some stellar performances, such as the Spanish GP qualifying. Yet this is not enough to lift the Woking-based team in the standings where it currently sits in 6th place. Subsequently, there is a lot of work to do for the British team.

Norrisโ€™ new teammate for this season, Oscar Piastri, has not had an easy debut season with only 5 points to his name. Although Lando believes that the Australian driver has pushed him to perform better, something was missing during Daniel Ricciardoโ€™s time on the team. Though presently, the 23-year-old is working with his team to help improve its pace throughout the season.

Thus, George Russell did not stop trolling Lando Norris on the official F1 YouTube channel. Thankfully, the 23-year-old admitted this to be an issue and laughed it off. As such, it is no secret that Norris must step up on his race performances if he truly wants to be seen as a driver capable of winning an F1 world title.
