Ananya Panday, the rising star of Bollywood, is making waves in the film industry with her recent projects. Just this month, she graced our screens in Vikramaditya Motwane’s CTRL on Netflix, alongside Vihaan Samat. But it’s not just her on-screen talent that has people talking – it’s her candid revelations about her love for crying.
In a recent podcast with Netflix India, Ananya opened up about her unusual affinity for shedding tears. She confessed that she believes she looks her best when she cries, even going as far as posting crying pictures on Instagram because she feels “I look really good when I cry.” The Gehriyaan actress explained that crying gives her a natural glow and a glassy-eyed effect, so much so that she even compliments herself in the mirror during a meltdown, saying ‘Not bad,’ before resuming her tears. “I love crying,” Ananya unabashedly shared.
This isn’t the first time Ananya has spoken about her emotional tendencies. In a segment with We Are Yuvaa on YouTube, she revealed that she struggles to express herself without tearing up. She acknowledged that taking a moment to compose herself is essential, even though she finds it challenging. But every time she has allowed herself that breather, things have always turned out better. “So, I should be doing that,” she joked.
Despite her success in the film industry, Ananya remains refreshingly humble. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, she admitted to cringing at herself constantly. “I think I have gotten better at looking at myself on screen, but when I started out, even if someone was watching a video of me on their phone, I would run out of the room,” shared Chunky and Bhavana Pandey’s daughter, revealing her self-conscious side.
Looking ahead, Ananya Panday is gearing up for her next project, the tentatively titled movie Shankara, alongside Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan. The film, reportedly based on the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’ by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Karan Johar. With her unique charm and emotional depth, Ananya is sure to captivate audiences once again with her performance.
