In the early hours of October 14th, Bala was taken into police custody from his residence in Edappally after a complaint was lodged by his ex-wife, Amritha Suressh. The charges against him under the Juvenile Justice Act have brought to light the struggles faced by Amritha and her daughter following their separation.

Amritha, in an interview with Mathrubhumi, bravely shared the harrowing experiences they endured. Recounting years of being “haunted” by unspeakable physical and mental torment, she revealed, “I had to leave that house when it started affecting my daughter.” Even after the divorce, the torment didn’t cease as Bala relentlessly pursued them, causing distress on social media and disrupting their daily lives.

The constant threats looming over them reached a tipping point when it began impacting her daughter, Avantika. Amritha expressed her disappointment in Bala’s lack of interest in meeting their daughter post-divorce. Despite the divorce settlement stipulating Bala’s financial responsibilities towards their daughter, including a substantial insurance policy, none of the commitments were honored by the accused.

Amritha shed light on the injustice they faced, where despite a modest settlement in the divorce case, they were wrongly accused of misappropriating vast sums of money. Their privacy was violated when personal call records were leaked to the media, leading to baseless allegations against them. Dismissing the accusations of financial misconduct, Amritha stood her ground.

Currently under interrogation at the Kadavanthra Police Station, Bala is expected to make a court appearance later in the day.
