Although it wonโt be very soon, Ciryl Gane has already laid down plans for his return. Gane is one of the most popular heavyweights in the division and fans want to see more from him. However, the former interim champion has other things on the table.ย
While this has kept fight fans unsure about his return, Ciryl Gane has recently given an update about it. Gane attended the F1 Grand Prix at Monaco last weekend and had some fan interactions. During the conversation, โBon Gaminโ revealed that he will be fighting in UFC Paris in September.
Being French, Gane being in the main event of UFC Paris makes sense for both the fighter and the promotion. Gane is unbeaten on his home turf and has beaten Tai Tuivasa and Serghei Spivac at UFC Paris. The fighter is #2 ranked in the division and would like to continue his winning streak to get his title shot.ย
The last time Gane fought for the heavyweight title he had a disappointing performance against the legendary, Jon Jones. However, to get the title shot again, Gane will probably go through the current interim champion, Tom Aspinall.
Tom Aspinall takes a sneaky jibe at Ciryl Gane for allegedly avoiding the fightย
Tom Aspinall has repeatedly called out Jon Jones for a potential heavyweight showdown. With Jones having other plans, Aspinall wanted to fight Ciryl Gane at the upcoming UFC 304 event in Manchester. However, according to Aspinall, Gane didnโt sign the contract due to his movie shoot.ย
While Aspinall initially respected Gane and his decision. However, the Brit has now made sure to mock the former title contender on social media. Recently in a skit, Aspinall sarcastically said:
Who would turn me down to do a film?

Instead of Gane, Aspinall is now scheduled to fight Curtis Blaydes at the Manchester event. While the โHoney Badgerโ is excited for his next fight, he definitely isnโt over the opportunity to fight Gane in the futureย
