UFC has never seen rivalries quite like Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones. During their prime days, both fighters indulged in some scary trash talk and altercations. Although Cormier never liked Jon Jones’ guts, he has now come forward to support his long-time rival over recent misdemeanor charges.

Jon Jones recently faced two misdemeanor charges over an alleged altercation with drug-testing agents in March. One of the agents filed a police complaint claiming that the heavyweight champion was aggressive towards her. Jones denied the accusations, and the court found him not guilty of the charges. In a recent YouTube video, Cormier shared his thoughts and mentioned that he knew that it was all a farce.

If a man is at his house and he’s having some drinks in the confines of his own home, so what? It’s his right to do that. If the drug testers come and he might be a little bit tipsy or messed up, maybe the interactions aren’t as fun or as easy as they may have been in other occasions. I kind of always thought it was B.S. I don’t think much is going to come of it.

Due to Jones’ history with the law, DC also clarified that fight fans normally tend to jump to the conclusion. Irrespective of the decorated UFC record, Jones’s career is stained with various controversies. The fighter tested positive for using PEDs and was stripped of his light heavyweight title. Jones was also found guilty of DUI and a hit-and-run case that took place in 2015.

After every incident, Jon Jones has publicly apologized and promised not to do it again. However, that wasn’t the case. During the heat of their rivalry, DC famously said that Jones would never change and was rotten at his core. It seems like their relationship has come a long way since then.

Jon Jones is often regarded as the GOAT of MMA by many fight fans. ‘Bones’ is well known for his fight IQ and all-around skills. Jones is the youngest-ever UFC champion and has faced absolute killers throughout his UFC career. Apart from the controversies, once the octagon is closed, Jones has always proven to be unstoppable.

However, ‘Bones’ is now getting old and is looking forward to his retirement. Before that, Jones has one fight in his mind: the legacy battle with Stipe Miocic. Recently, Jones turned 37 years old and is currently in his best state of mind.

I’ll be 37 years old !! I’m 260 pounds 16 weeks away from fighting the most decorated heavyweight in UFC history. I feel like I’m in a great spot right before training camp ramps up. My form is far from perfect in these videos, but I’m happy with it considering the surgeries I recently had. 16 more weeks to become the beast

Although there have been no announcements, Jones will most probably be back in action in November at the Madison Square Garden. It will be Jones’s first-ever heavyweight title defense against Miocic, who is considered the division’s GOAT.
