Alex Pereira wasn’t playing around when it came to testing the grappling skills of Anthony Smith. Pereira and Smith have never seen eye to eye. As such, Pereira wanted to shut Smith up with a grappling challenge. However, the UFC veteran laughed at Pereira’s audacious $50,000 grappling challenge.
The light heavyweight king wasn’t thrilled, and he doubled down with a fiery response. Alex Pereira took to Instagram to vent his frustrations. He once again offered the same challenge to Smith and indicated the bet was real. However, Pereira said it would have to happen in a gym rather than a highly publicized event.
Someone tell this guy that the bet is real, I’m not talking about fighting at an event because I don’t need to promote myself. I’m talking about booking in a gym and the bet would be there because if you wait to fight me at an event, it would probably be difficult to happen…. He said he would use this money to buy the stupidest thing, I would do it differently. I would buy food for people in need to lessen their pain.

The Brazilian striking phenom had proposed wagering 50 grand, stating that he could avoid being submitted by the American fighter. Anthony Smith is a decent grappler in his own right. While many saw it as preposterous trash talk, Pereira clarified he was deadly serious. Smith had also accepted Pereira’s callout and agreed to grapple with him.

Alex Pereira‘s hostility towards Smith stemmed from the American talking trash about him and his grappling. Smith has yet to respond directly to this. The grappling contest will not happen right away as Pereira is recovering from an injury. At present, Pereira is enjoying some time off due to the injury.

When they turned the corner, they saw the bear lying down and ran away, suspecting it to be real. The cameraman told the kids it was just a prop, and the children returned downstairs. This is when Pereira, lying under the costume, sprang to life with a ferocious roar.
The kids’ reactions were priceless. They immediately backpedaled in fright. One of them even slipped down before running away. This was before realizing the “bear” was actually their “mischievous” father doing his best impression of a fearsome creature. The striker is best known for his bone-crushing fists, but this tender family moment showcased his softer, playful side.
