In light of this, UFC legend Chael Sonnen created a video on his YouTube channel, offering intriguing theories about Pereira’s meeting. Sonnen suggested that the fight between Ankalaev and Pereira might no longer be in the works.
I don’t know if there was ever a plan. I think that I think Alex and 205 and onward with Ankalaev, I think all of that was just as we saw. I don’t know what this meeting was about, I know he did not get brought in the office to fight Ankalaev… Ankalaev and Pereira have agreed publicly to do it, there would not be a meeting about it is what I’m sharing for you.

Sonnen conducted a thorough analysis in which he expressed his suspicion regarding Pereira’s intention to attend a meeting. The UFC legend outlined his reasoning for this skepticism. According to Sonnen, Pereira was not called to the UFC headquarters for a meeting prior to his last fights, even though he had participated in a championship match. In his video, Sonnen specifically highlighted these points.
Recently, Pereira himself posted a cryptic message suggesting he may not face Magomed Ankalaev, which caused some disappointment among fans. In the current light heavyweight division, a potential fight between Pereira and Ankalaev remains one of the most highly anticipated matchups. Although the Brazilian fighter has expressed reluctance to fight the Russian fighter, there is still hope.
