In combat sports, a fighterโs age plays a vital role in their longevity. Over the years, the MMA community has witnessed several top fighters retiring due to age. However, many fighters continue in the sport despite getting older. Recently, Brazilian MMA fighters Renato Moicano and Gilbert Burns made some lighthearted allegations about fellow countryman Jose Aldoโs age.
In the most recent Show Me The Moneyย podcast episode, hosts Renato Moicano and Gilbert Burns previewed the upcoming UFC 307 event. The fight card will feature several top fighters, including Alex Pereira, Julianna Pena, and Jose Aldo. While discussing the betting odds, Moicano and Burns expressed similar thoughts about Aldoโs age. Burns, in particular, shared some intriguing insights about it.
Renato Moicano and Gilbert Burns, along with their co-host, seemed to laugh off that. Moicano, in particular, even sarcastically questioned how that could be possible. Despite his advancing age, Jose Aldo has continued to impress everyone with his excellent MMA skills.
While he hasnโt had a knockout or submission in a while, Aldo has won four of his last five matches. The decorated MMA fighter has recently defeated some strong bantamweight fighters, including Marlon Vera, Pedro Munhoz, Rob Font, and Jonathan Martinez.
๐คฏ Jose Aldo might be actually 40 years old, which is 2 years older than he is listed in the UFC.

However, before these fights, Aldo seemed to struggle against the up-and-coming bantamweight prospects. Nevertheless, all these shouldnโt take away the impact that the โKing of Rioโ had during his younger days. Who could forget his famous fight against Conor McGregor, which attracted a large audience to UFC and MMA?
UFC lightweight fighter reveals his past hatred for Conor McGregor because of Jose Aldo
Conor McGregorโs status in the UFC is well-known. His intense rivalries with various fighters have only added to his popularity. One of McGregorโs fiercest rivals was the former featherweight champion, Jose Aldo. Their rivalry began with a lot of back and forth, culminating with McGregor delivering the final blow at UFC 194.
Over the years, many have admired his imposing presence in and around the octagon. However, this wasnโt the case for everyone. Brazilian lightweight fighter Renato Moicano appeared to have a strong dislike for McGregor in the past. He recently disclosed the reason behind this, which appears to be linked to Jose Aldo. Not only Moicano but even Gilbert Burns had the same reasons for it.
It has been almost a decade since their fight. Currently, both McGregor and Aldo have moved on from their beef against each other. The King of Rio is coming back for another fight at UFC 307. On the other hand, the Irishman is seemingly enjoying his time outside the octagon right now.
