Nobody seems to get Terence Crawfordโs name right these days. After the Kendrick Lamar slip-up at UFC Noche, controversial UK journalist Piers Morgan also gave the undefeated boxer a new name.
Piers Morgan recently sat down for a conversation with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. The MMA star will be making his PFL debut later this month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Before that, he took on two of the biggest names in boxingโ Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Morgan made a reference to โRiyadh Seasonโ and the recent contribution of the Saudis to boxing. This is when he made a slip-up on Terence Crawfordโs name.
What Piers Morgan was talking about was the series of major boxing events hosted in Riyadh, spearheaded by Turki Alalshikh. Crawfordโs fight in Los Angeles was part of Riyadh Seasonโs first overseas event in collaboration with Matchroom Boxing. Terence Crawford took on Israil Madrimov at BMO Stadium and secured a hard-fought unanimous decision victory, becoming a four-division world champion.ย

Before the fight, Eminem delivered a 15-minute performance, hyping up the crowd with some of his greatest hits. The set included โRap God,โ โTill I Collapse,โ โCinderella Man,โ and concluded with the iconic โLose Yourselfโ. Eminemโs performance marked his continued support for Crawford, as he had also previously walked the boxer to the ring in Las Vegas.ย
Who will Terence Crawford fight next?
If Terence Crawford does not end up facing Conor McGregor, there are a few other intriguing possibilities for his next opponent. Crawford has made it clear that he is not interested in an MMA-style fight, even though McGregor suggested a lucrative two-fight deal worth $200 million for one boxing and one MMA bout. Crawford seems to be leaning towards a legacy-defining fight in boxing rather than chasing money.
One of the most likely candidates is Sebastian Fundora, a junior-middleweight fighter. A victory over Fundora would move Crawford closer to becoming a three-time undisputed champion across different weight classes, a historic feat in the four-belt era. Fundoraโs unique style and reach make him an interesting challenge, but Crawford would be heavily favored.

Additionally, there is speculation that Crawford could target the winner of the upcoming IBF title fight between Tim Tszyu and Bakhram Murtazaliev. That fight would further solidify his position at 154 pounds. This route would also align with Crawfordโs pursuit of a legacy-based career as he nears retirement.
