He has even been in verbal arguments over Jones being the pound-for-pound number one in his books. Previously, when asked about a potential Alex Pereira vs. Jon Jones fight, White gave a rather negative response. However, thanks to Joe Rogan, White might have changed his mind about the heavyweight clash.

Jon Jones has shown his interest in fighting Alex Pereira for some time now. After the Brazilian won his last bout at UFC 303, he announced a potential move to the heavyweight. This further intensified the potential of a super fight between Jones and the ‘Poatan’. Rogan being a big fan of both Pereira and ‘Bones’ seems to have worked as a catalyst to making that fight.
Jones is rumored to get back inside the octagon this November to face Stipe Miocic at the Madison Square Garden. If he gets past Miocic and successfully defends his belt, his next outing could be against Alex Pereira. Although other heavyweights such as Tom Aspinall won’t be a fan of this move, Jones doesn’t seem to be bothered.

The UFC veteran mentioned that the narrative and momentum that Pereira is carrying will be great marketing for their fight.

While White’s positive response regarding the fight is good news for the fight fans, there is a catch to it. Currently, Jones is in the middle of a legal issue and could potentially face jail time for two misdemeanor charges. Given the circumstances, only time will tell what will happen about the Pereira vs. Jones super fight.
