Conor McGregor has revealed his latest ‘Notorious’ ambition is to become a major player in the music industry. To that end, he plans to give artists a fair share of profits for their work. With splits that are “currently unheard of in the industry.” Ask ‘Mac’ and ye shall receive, as McGregor has announced the launch of a new Dublin-based record label, Greenback Records.
The Dubliner is really taking jazzy Jay-Z’s advice to heart because he’s not just a businessman. He’s a business, man! This only adds to his portfolio further, and further. According to Impact Data (2022), it’s way beyond a trajectory to surpass other celebrity brand spirits. McGregor Sports & Entertainment is also an equity shareholder and part-owner of BKFC.
Consequently, now comes the foray into music. With a multi-genre record label, alongside music industry business partners Richard Buck and Julian O’Brien. Buck, CEO of Greenback Records, is the former Head of Global Touring for TEG and founded the MJR Group. He’s been responsible for several of 50 Cent’s biggest tours, SIA’s iconic stadium tour, Nostalgic For The Present, with O’Brien.
Alongside, also the deal between Snoop Dogg and TEG which resulted in Snoop’s record-breaking ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ Tour in 2023. The current plan is that McGregor’s label is expected to be a “multi-genre” producer. To offer up partnership deals for artists in a way that hasn’t been touched before. From multi-platinum-selling artists to up-and-coming rising stars.

Beyond his interests in the octagon, MMA promotions, and entrepreneurship, Proper No. Twelve single malt whiskey, and Forged Irish Stout, Conor McGregor has been a lot of things. ‘Notorious’ made his debut by starring in the Road House movie featuring Jake Gyllenhaal and Post Malone – a remake of the 1989 cult classic starring Patrick Swayze. O’Brien, creative director and head of A&R for Greenback Records comes from an artist representation background, having managed Ireland’s largest rap group, Versatile. He has also represented the likes of The Game, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Coolio, Obie Trice, and D12, among others. With the new partnership, such similar talents are to be part of the label, as well as new and coming ones.
