Friday, February 23rd, the NBA arenas were heated as many teams got into altercations during games. But the Miami Heat vs. New Orleans Pelicans game had four players ejected. All started a fight to defend their teammates.

It began after Heat’s Kevin Love fouled Pelican’s Zion Williamson, sending him to the floor. His teammate, Naji Marshall, came to defend Williamson. Similarly, Jimmy Butler came to defend his teammate and got into a physical altercation with Marshall. After a while, Heat’s Thomas Bryant and Pelican’s Jose Alvarado got into an altercation near the bench. All four players were ejected from the game.

On February 25th, the NBA announced that they suspending total of five players. Butler, Marshall and Nikola Jovic for one game without pay, and Alvarado and Bryant, three days without pay. After the announcement, Jimmy Butler hilariously reacted to the suspension on his social media.

Butler posted a meme featuring his suspended teammate Jovic, referring themselves as ‘Bad Boys’. He also posted Instagram stories listening to songs like ‘Locked Up’ by Akon, ‘Jail’ by Kanye West, and ‘Life’ by K.Ci & JoJo. Butler’s hilarious take on the suspension received several reactions from fans.

Immediately after the suspension news was announced, Butler posted regarding it on social media. As it is only a day of suspension, fans thought Butler’s reaction was hysterical. The Miami Heat forward posted several posts.

Butler and Jovic will miss the game against the Sacramento Kings on Monday. Bryant will start his suspension in the same game. Alvarado and Marshall will start their suspension in the game of the Pelicans against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.
