Abhishek Bachchan, known for his recent performance in Ghoomer in 2023, has an exciting lineup of films ahead, including Be Happy, Housefull 5, and an untitled project by Shoojit Sircar. Despite his busy schedule, Abhishek shares a special bond with fellow actors in the industry, with Sanjay Dutt being one of his close friends. In a heartwarming revelation, Abhishek once shared that Sanjay has a unique habit of sleeping in a sitting position, a habit he developed during his time in jail.
During a candid chat on the show Yaaron Ki Baraat, Abhishek Bachchan opened up about Sanjay Dutt’s sleeping habits, mentioning that the veteran actor never lies down to sleep. Instead, Sanjay arranges pillows behind his back and comfortably rests in a seated position. When asked about this peculiar habit, Sanjay Dutt emotionally reminisced about his time in jail, where the cells would flood during the monsoon season, forcing inmates to sleep in the rising water. This experience led him to adopt the habit of sleeping in a sitting position, a habit he continues to this day.
For those unfamiliar with Sanjay Dutt’s past, he spent five years in prison after being arrested under the TADA and Arms Act in 1993. He was later convicted for possessing illegal weapons during the 1993 Bombay blasts and was released in 2016. His tumultuous life was brought to the big screen in the 2018 biopic Sanju, where Ranbir Kapoor portrayed his journey, alongside a stellar cast including Anushka Sharma, Manisha Koirala, and Paresh Rawal.
Abhishek Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt have shared the screen in movies like LOC Kargil, Rakht, Dus, and Shootout at Lokhandwala. Their camaraderie will once again be on display in the upcoming film Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani. Scheduled for release on June 6, 2025, Housefull 5, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, promises to bring laughter and entertainment as the fifth installment of the beloved Housefull franchise.
