Welterweight star Michael ‘Venom’ Page recently lost out to Ian Garry at UFC 303 via unanimous decision. It was MVP’s first loss in the promotion after a convincing victory over Kevin Holland at UFC 299. Despite losing the UFC 303 showdown, MVP has certain reservations about Garry’s skill level as a fighter.
After his latest loss, Michael Page recently spoke up to Ariel Helwani. During the conversation, the former Bellator fighter denied Ian Garry’s chances against legitimate strikers in the welterweight division. As such, the British striker spoke about what would happen if Garry ever faced Shavkat Rakhmonov or champion Leon Edwards.
If that’s the game you’re going to go when you get a decent striker, then Leon is gonna kill you anyway, then Shavkat gonna kill you anyway.

Page claimed Garry was not that strong despite picking up the win. The fighter also predicted that Garry was talented enough to stick around in the division, but winning the welterweight belt seemed impossible. However, the much experienced MVP said Garry has the scope for improvement going forward.
With the win against Page, Garry extended his undefeated run and is currently 15-0 in his professional career. The #7 ranked fighter Irishman has already called out Shavkat Rakhmonov in the hopes of setting up a title eliminator. In contrast to MVP’s opinion, other experts believe in Garry’s potential.

Garry also got words of praise from former welterweight champ Kamaru Usman for taking the safest route to beat MVP. Garry has always talked about his intentions to fight for the title. The Irishman even declared his intentions to be the backup fighter at the Leon Edwards vs. Belal Muhammad at UFC 304. It remains to be seen if RDA’s prediction comes true in the future or not.
