In the past, Dana White quite passionately made some interesting claims about Power Slap. Andrew Schulz recently made some comments talking about Dana White’s controversial comparison between Power Slap and Real Madrid.

Andrew Schulz recently made an appearance on The Fighter and The Kid. Schulz had previously discussed slap-fighting with Dana White on his “Flagrant” podcast. White made bold claims about the popularity of his Power Slap league, asserting it has more followers than any other professional sport, including Real Madrid. Schulz questioned this, highlighting the impressive following of Real Madrid.

What I assume it is, is that the show gets ins*ne ratings online. It’s impossible while two people are about to slap each other. That’s like not physically possible. You’re gonna get more views than like a soccer, a cool goal or a random picture of Ronaldo. But there’s now way that the league has more followers than Real Madrid.

The UFC CEO faced some scrutiny for his comments which later made him clarify by admitting that he misspoke and meant views instead of followers. Power Slap has over 4.5 million followers on Instagram. Real Madrid, on the other hand, is one of the most followed sports teams globally, with over 163 million on Instagram. Schulz also talked about how when Dana White was building the UFC, there was a lot of criticism and concern about the sport’s safety, and regulation.

People have expressed similar sentiments about Power Slap, which is a newer combat sport. Critics often question its safety and potential for serious injury, much like they did with the early days of mixed martial arts (MMA) before it became widely accepted and regulated. Power Slap may become even more popular with the addition of popular stars like former UFC fighter, Paige VanZant.

Paige VanZant scores victory at Dana White’s Power Slap debut

Paige VanZant recently won her debut fight in Dana White’s Power Slap. She secured her first combat sports win since 2019. Coming over from UFC and BKFC she scored two knockdowns against Christine Wolmarans at Power Slap 8. Thus, she walked away with the win via unanimous decision.

VanZant said she had an “absolutely incredible” experience. Even though she wanted to knock Wolmarans out with the first slap, she is happy that it went the way it did. Overall it was a “fun” experience for the former UFC fighter.

The three-round match saw VanZant knock Wolmarans down twice. She first did it with her second slap and followed it with the third. Wolmarans on the other hand barely did any damage to VanZant even after she got an extra attempt after VanZant flinched in the third round which is a foul.
