Jorge Masvidal is ready to fight Nate Diaz again

Jorge Masvidal fought Nate Diaz in a highly entertaining 10-round boxing match. Masvidal lost via majority decision. However, he believes it was not a valid loss. According to Jorge Masvidal, the judges were influenced by the crowd and they failed to make a fair assessment of the rounds.

One judge had the Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal boxing showdown in a draw. Meanwhile, the other two judges scored the fight in favor of Nate Diaz. Masvidal addressed this at the post-fight press conference.

I definitely know the judges were influenced by the crowd… I think one or two of the judges only gave me two rounds. There’s just no way. We were looking at the fight right now in the locker room, the meaningful shots, and a lot more of the meaningful shots were landed by me.

According to the stats, Masvidal landed more and landed heavier punches although surprisingly, none of them knocked the Stockton native down. According to Masvidal, he hurt Diaz more with way cleaner shots, especially to the body.

However, they fought at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The Californian crowd was ecstatic to see Diaz throw punches at ‘Gamebred’, regardless of whether they landed. Masvidal claimed that eight rounds to two for his performance was ridiculous. However, he said he knew he had to get a knockout or something like this would have happened. So does that mean we will get a rematch soon?

Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz sold out the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and ‘Gamebred’ was pretty happy about it. Regardless of the dissatisfaction with the result, he knew they put on a great fight. Masvidal is ready to do it again and sell out another arena, whichever it may be.

It was Masvidal’s debut fight in boxing, the first since he retired from the UFC last year. ‘Gamebred’ revealed that he still had a couple more fights on his contract with the promotion. But he also has two more boxing matches to fight with Fanmio.

I don’t know who’s going to be the next opponent, but we’re going to be looking for somebody. We’re 1-1, we can run it back some place like Vegas. Make it a neutral place and let’s f*cking throw down.

Masvidal repeatedly emphasized on how great of an experience it was and how much more he had to explore with boxing. The last time Masvidal fought Diaz was back in 2019 at UFC 244. It will be interesting to see if they run it back, whether it be in boxing or the octagon.
