Sharaputdin Magomedov just proved why he’s one of the most entertaining prospects in the middleweight division. At UFC Saudi Arabia,  Magomedov beat Antonio Trocoli with a spectacular TKO. Immediately after the fight, the Dagestani got a call-out from NCAA champ, Bo Nickal. 

Bo Nickal is a huge name and has a massive fan following due to his wrestling background. The fighter often talked about his intentions to go against Dagestani wrestlers. When Sharaputdin Magomedov was asked about the call-out, the fighter mentioned that he was interested in that fight. Magomedov also mentioned that he’s from Dagestan and wrestling is not an issue for him.

Yes. Bo Nickal is an interesting opponent. Interesting fight, he has good wrestling. Wrestling now for me is no problem. I’m from Dagestan, you know brother.

Regardless of the TKO win, Magomedov did find himself in the middle of a controversy. During the second round, As Trocoli pushed Magomedov against the cage in search of a takedown, the ‘One-eyed Pirate’ gripped the fence to keep himself from being dragged to the ground. Referee Marc Goddard elected not to deduct a point from Magomedov, as is customary, instead issuing a severe warning.

Aside from that, Magomedov had remarkable skills and outperformed his opponent throughout the bout. The fight also resulted in the fighter winning a $50,000 Performance of the Night prize. With this victory, Magomedov has put himself on the map, something Joe Rogan always predicted about the fighter.

As the biggest MMA promotion in the world, the UFC attracts the best of the best fighters. In the bunch, there are a few fighters who are special and according to Joe Rogan, Sharaputdin Magomedov is one of them. Other than his commentary job at UFC, Rogan has a great interest in fighters worldwide. Rogan has often warned the MMA community about other fighters who came and dominated the UFC.

During one of his podcast episodes, Joe Rogan talked about the ’Bullet’ and his dominating fighting style. Rogan was highly impressed by Magomedov not having an eye and still putting on performances like this.

He’s really good. I don’t understand it. I don’t know if they letting guys because Bisping did it. But this dude, he’s got a dead eye. This guy is a bad m******* man. I’m shocked.

Sharaputdin Magomedov lost his right eye after he suffered an injury during a fight. The fighter had entirely lost vision in one eye and was worried about getting an infection every time he trained. After that, he went to the doctor who suggested that he remove the eye. In the process, according to the fighter they tortured his right eye.  Nevertheless, having one eye doesn’t seem to bother Magomedov as the fighter aims to become the middleweight champion soon.
