Sean O’Malley is undoubtedly one of the top strikers in the bantamweight division. He was recently asked who else he holds in the esteemed list of some of the top strikers in the entire UFC. O’Malley named himself and three others in the promotion. Interestingly strikers like Conor McGregor and Alex Pereira did not make the bantamweight champion’s list.

Sean O’Malley recently made an appearance on Jake Paul‘s podcast. During their conversation on BS w/ Jake Paul, one of the co-hosts asked O’Malley who he would put on his Mount Rushmore of UFC strikers. The bantamweight champion replied:

I’m up there. Max is really good – Max is super sick. Ilia Topuria, his striking is really good. Me, Max, Ilia, Adesanya.

Max Holloway recently secured the BMF title after a viral last-second knockout victory over Justin Gaethje at UFC 300. The former champion famously termed himself the ‘best boxer in the UFC’. Undefeated Ilia Topuria knocked out Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 to become the featherweight champion.

Israel Adesanya is making a comeback later this year in August. He is a two-time UFC middleweight champion and will throw down for the title against Dricus Du Plessis in Australia at UFC 305. Meanwhile, O’Malley won the bantamweight title with a knockout victory over Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292. He also secured his first title defense avenging his only career loss with a unanimous decision win over Marlon Vera at UFC 299. Interestingly, the bantamweight champion has also been playing with the idea of crossing over into boxing lately.

Sean O’Malley wants a boxing fight; potential Ryan Garcia matchup?

Fans have been excited ever since Sean O’Malley shared his intentions to step into boxing. The bantamweight champion has gone back and forth with boxer Ryan Garcia on a potential showdown. O’Malley had previously revealed that he has had discussions with the UFC authorities regarding a crossover boxing match.

I truly do want to get a boxing fight. I’m not super set on that to where I’m going to be like f*cking mad if it doesn’t happen… Ryan does his thing, I think there’s a f*cking sweet fight there.

O’Malley said he thinks it will be interesting, especially if he knocks Merab Dvalishvili out in a potential showdown later this year. However, the bantamweight champion would not be too pressed if it does not happen. He said he wants to beat Dvalishvili and move up to featherweight to take on the winner of a potential fight between Max Holloway and Ilia Topuria.
