Conor McGregor‘s highly anticipated UFC 303 fight fell apart with two weeks remaining. MMA fans have been left wondering about the timeline for his return. Enter McGregor’s teammate, Peter Queally. This familiar voice has provided some insight into the expected comeback of the ‘Mystic Mac.’

During an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, the Bellator fighter confidently stated his belief that Conor McGregor will grace the octagon soon. As per him, September seemed like a heavy possibility for the Irishman’s long-awaited fight against Michael Chandler.

It seems like they [UFC] will endeavor to make that fight in September time…Something like that maybe. That’s what I’m hearing. That’s what you can look forward to if they can make it happen.

This update leaves a hopeful mood for everyone awaiting McGregor’s return. Queally remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the hugely popular Irishman’s injury. He, however, reassured fight fans that the setback wasn’t overly serious. The Bellator fighter also remained optimistic about McGregor’s comeback and his ability to recapture his glory days.

McGregor hasn’t seen action since 2021, when he fought Dustin Poirier. Michael Chandler, as well, has gone two years since fighting. His last fight was also against Dustin Poirier. Both of these fighters were coaches for The Ultimate Fighter. If Queally’s prediction is true, fight fans may see these two back in action sooner rather than later. But doubts still linger in many individuals ’ minds about his comeback.

Matt Brown talked about this in the latest episode of The Fighter vs. The Writer. Brown revealed that he was already confident that McGregor wouldn’t grace the octagon ever again. So, the news of the pullout was not that shocking for him.

I was never confident before that he would [come back]. It didn’t shock me when I saw he was out of this fight. No, I’m still on that same train. He’s not ever coming back.

Brown’s skepticism stems from McGregor’s extended three-year absence and mounting injury woes. The major one of this was the horrific leg break that sidelined him in 2021. The 43-year-old welterweight contends McGregor’s physical battles may prove too formidable. Whether fight fans will witness the magnificence and the electric aura of Conor McGregor again in the octagon remains to be seen.
