Recently, Donald Trump did an interview with Logan Paul on his popular IMPAULSIVE Podcast, where he talked about Nurmagomedov. The former president mentioned how Nurmagomedov is undefeated and never lost a round in his highly decorated professional career.
I met Khabib. Khabib who’s 29-0 and his father died and he just said, ’That’s it for me.’ His father was great at what he did. Probably he never lost even a round. I thought he was great. We got to speak and he was just about my favorite guy.

At UFC 302, Khabib Nurmagomedov successfully coached Islam Makhachev to defend his UFC title against Dustin Poirier. Immediately after the fight, the Dagestani went to meet Trump. During the conversation, Nurmagomedov asked Trump to stop the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine. The ex-POTUS remains among the few politicians in the US who want to stop the Israeli-Palestine crisis.
After that, Trump put out a post on Truth Social, calling Nurmagomedov the greatest fighter of all time out of appreciation. All this just proves that Trump is not a casual person and understands the sport of MMA. Khabib’s protege, Makhachev, also spoke about the meeting after the fight. The lightweight champion revealed the meeting between them happened all too quickly.

The champion claimed no one organized the meeting between Trump and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Makhachev also revealed that Trump had previously expressed admiration for the Dagestani legend. As such, the meeting happened at the spur of the moment.
It was all on camera. Nothing was planned. Trump was sitting cageside, so when Khabib left the cage, they met. Trump already said a long time ago that Khabib was one of his favorite fighters. He loves fighting and often attends UFC events, so it was just a random meeting.

After Nurmagomedov’s retirement, Islam Makhachev has maintained the Dagestani domination in the UFC’s lightweight division. Given his fighting style and capabilities, it won’t be surprising to imagine Trump also being a huge fan of Makhachev.
